Always wanted to try scuba diving?  We can make it a reality!  You will take a short eLearning course online prior to your arrival. At our shop you will receive a brief introduction to scuba diving. After a short boat ride to one of Culebra’s beautiful reefs, we’ll have you show us your swimming proficiency with no gear and no flotation devices. After that we’ll gear up and one of our instructors will take you on a shallow dive (max depth 40 ft / 12 m). This experience is conducted in the ocean – not a pool. If you have difficulty swimming or have no previous snorkeling experience, please consider visiting a dive shop that conducts Discovery dives in a pool for the best introduction to scuba.

Requirements

For your safety and enjoyment as well as ours, the ability to swim comfortably without assistance (no flotation devices) is mandatory. There are no exceptions.

• If you are unable to meet the requirements to safely swim underwater, you will not be allowed to dive. You will, however, be converted to a snorkel tour participant where a flotation device will be provided
• For your comfort and safety, previous ocean snorkeling experience is necessary (snorkeling for the first time right before your tour does not count!)
• You must be able to stand on our boat wearing a full scuba kit (approximately 45 pounds)
• Minimum age twelve (12). Minimum height and weight of participant 5’0″ (152 cm) and 99 lbs (45 kg)

Schedule

• [Prior to Arrival] Complete online studies
• 1:00PM Gear fitting, orientation, and class time at shop
• 2:00PM Boat Departs from the dock
• Boat Returns to the dock approximately 4:30PM
• In order to avoid schedule conflicts, we ask that you not book transportation immediately after the tour as return times are not guaranteed.
• Before booking: the medical guidance is to wait 12-18 hours after diving before flying which includes the island hopper flights out of Culebra. For that reason we ask that you not book flights immediately after your tour.
