Have you always wanted to get certified or to finish your scuba training in the islands? We are a PADI 5 Star Dive Center and therefore offer Open Water scuba certifications through the agency PADI.  You’ll complete your studies online prior to arrival and we’ll take care of all your dives. For those looking to complete the last portion of their certification, we’ll ask you to send your referral paperwork in advance so we can assist you in getting those final dives scheduled!

Anyone not diving for 2 or more years is strongly recommended to take the time to refresh your skills. Don’t let all your training slip away!

Open Water Certification

You come prepared by completing the course material at home via PADI online eLearning and let us take care of the rest. Just click on the next tab to get started online TODAY! After completing your studies we will teach you the in-water portions of your dive training in Culebra. While it is possible to complete your certification in a minimum of 3 days we ask that you prepare to spend 4 days with us to ensure success. Our minimum age to participate in Open Water training with Culebra Divers is twelve (12).

  • Cost: $495 pp plus tax paid to Culebra Divers. This includes your Confined Water & Open Water Training, all necessary gear, & your certification card processing fee. Also paid to Culebra Divers if you do not already have it, $53 for the required supplemental PADI Open Water Crew Pak.
  • PADI eLearning Fees for Open Water Certification are (prices subject to change without notice) paid directly to PADI at time of online registration: $185.

Open Water Referrals

You did all your classroom work and exams during the cold winter at home and all your confined water practice in a swimming pool. Now you want to go to the warm, crystal clear waters of Culebra to finish your training? We are ready for you!

You will need to email your referral information to us as soon as you are done training, no less than 1 week prior to your arrival. You also must bring your referral paperwork, a recent, signed medical form (if necessary) from your original dive shop or instructor and your log book.

Did you do your initial training with NAUI or SSI? No problem! We also honor the Universal Referral Program (URP).

  • Cost: $345 pp plus tax, this includes all of your Open Water Training, all necessary gear, and your certification card processing fee.

Scuba Refresher

Has it been awhile since you have been diving? More than a year or two? We highly recommend you participate in a Scuba Refresher dive.

We require that you participate in a Scuba Refresher course or show proof of a recent refresher if you have not been diving within the last two (2) years. The refresher can be incorporated into either our one-tank or two-tank tours where we will reintroduce you to the gear, review dive safety concepts, basic skills, and hand signals, work on your buoyancy, and get you tuned-up and ready to go!

  • Cost: $115 pp + tax (includes standard rental gear package). This is a one-tank refresher on our afternoon boat, 2PM – 4:30PM (your arrival time 1:30PM).
  • Cost: $155 pp + tax (includes standard rental gear package). This is a two-tank refresher on our morning boat with dive one being the tune-up and dive two being a fun dive, 9AM – 1PM (your arrival time 8:30AM).

Advanced Open Water Certification

Required Dives: Deep, Navigation, and Peak Performance Buoyancy
The remaining two dives may be any of the following: Boat, Digital Underwater Imaging, Drift*, Fish Identification, Night*, Search & Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, or Wreck*.
*Availability based on conditions

  • Cost: $400 pp plus tax paid to Culebra Divers. This includes your instruction and in-water training, all necessary gear, and your certification card processing fee. Also paid to Culebra Divers if you do not already have it, $53 for the required supplemental PADI Advanced Open Water Crew Pak and $23 if you forget your training logbook.
  • PADI eLearning Fees for Advanced Open Water Certification are (prices subject to change without notice) paid directly to PADI at time of online registration: $173.
